Partner Spotlight

What does collaboration mean for our partners?

Collaboration can be defined in many ways. One definition is “the situation of two or more people working together to achieve the same thing.”*

In practice, collaboration takes many forms and looks different depending on who’s at the table and what they’re working to achieve.

Across Georgia, our health coverage partners have been showing what collaboration looks like in action. From aligning advocacy efforts to bridging communities that don’t often share the same space, their work reflects the many ways people come together to shape a healthier Georgia.

We asked our health coverage partners to reflect on how their work is strengthened by working collaboratively.

The collaborative power of our work around Medicaid lies in its diversity and expertise across the advocacy landscape. This group brings representation from Georgia’s unique communities to the same table to advance policy solutions that improve healthcare access for all Georgians.

By breaking down silos between organizations, we’ve moved past simple cooperation toward strategic alignment. Whether it’s coordinating legislative testimony or synchronizing grassroots outreach, our collaborative focus remains singular: ensuring that Georgians don’t have to choose between putting food on the table and going to the doctor. We are proving that when we speak with one voice, we aren’t just advocating for a policy change—we are building the infrastructure for a healthier Georgia.

Laura Colbert Executive Director, Georgians for a Healthy Future

Fixing Georgia’s healthcare landscape is a collective mission that requires us to bridge the gap between urban and rural, conservative and liberal, wealthy and poor, grassroots and the Gold Dome, the insured and the invisible, and everything in between. By leveraging unique strengths among coalition partners, we are transforming a complex legislative hurdle into a common-sense solution for every Georgian.
