Kristy Klein Davis serves as President and CEO of the Initiative, where she leads efforts to advance health equity and elevate the role of philanthropy in making positive changes in communities across Georgia. A nationally recognized thought leader, Kristy brings deep expertise designing and implementing complex philanthropic strategies in public health and social sectors. In her role, Kristy collaborates with the Board of Directors to advance the Initiative’s vision of a Georgia in which all people have the opportunity to attain their fullest potential for health. She brings a creative approach to leadership and a strong passion for championing the vision, mission, and organizational values of the Initiative.

Kristy’s leadership engagement includes serving on the Grantmakers in Health National Board, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce Board, the Steering Committee of Georgia Grantmakers Alliance, and Georgia’s Comprehensive Health Coverage Commission. Through these and other roles, she contributes insights and expertise to statewide and national efforts to improve health and wellbeing. Immediately prior to joining the Initiative, Kristy served as Chief Strategy Officer for Missouri Foundation for Health where she helped lead the foundation’s ‘s transformation from a traditional Grantmaker to a systems change institution. Within this role and throughout her career, Kristy has worked to improve health equity through adaptive strategies that emphasize community-informed approaches that value and center the experiences of community members themselves.

Kristy earned her in Social Work from The Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis and her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from The University of Kansas. She is a frequent writer and speaker on systems change, health equity, and modern philanthropy.
