Maura Tangum
Communications Manager
Maura Tangum serves as Communications Manager at the Georgia Health Initiative, where she uses her expertise in instructional design, digital marketing, and content development to advance the Initiative’s mission of building a healthier and more equitable Georgia. She brings a strong ability to translate complex ideas into creative and engaging resources.
With a BA in English and Studio Art from Davidson College and an MA in Design from Bard Graduate Center, Maura developed an appreciation for the ways words and visuals can work together. This perspective sparked her entry into the communications field and continues to guide her creative approach today. Prior to joining the Initiative, Maura consulted with the Task Force for Global Health, where she developed branding kits, designed digital assets and infographics, and created an online advocacy course for global program managers. Through these and other projects, Maura has continually honed her skills in storytelling, digital engagement, and project management.
Born and raised in Atlanta, Maura’s favorite part of living in Georgia is having access to the best peaches in the world. She enjoys bringing fresh peaches to friends and family in other states, giving them a piece of Georgia—and a little joy in the process.
To Maura, a healthy Georgia is a place where access to physical activity and healthy eating is available to everyone.
